I chose to write about the book " night " by Ellie wisel because the book taught me many different things. I learned that during the times of the holucast it was crucial to think about yourself because you can not always save the others. I also learned about the goodness in others, even in a small act of kindness from someone telling them to switch their age so they might be able to avoid being thought of as too weak. Ellie sticks with his dad the whole time through the story by giving him rations of his bread, to getting him water, to pushing him to keep running when they both knew their body's were at their breaking point. Sadly, Ellie's dad dies of sickness, and Ellie did act a bit selfish in the end not giving his dad what he needed. I don't know if selfish is the right word to use in that situation because something that traumatic can change you as a person. The last major thing that I have learned from this story is to have faith. Faith can help you in your most weak moments. For example, when you see babies being thrown into a ball of fire you ask yourself " how could my god let this happen ", but God has brought people into the earth, and earth where there still is sin, an earth where the people with the most genuine heart can be murdered. God doesn't just sit there and plan when you die because we have free will, and we can not control everything that happens to us on this earth. Our God is a good god and he will always be there for us in our darkest times.
